Judge Thompson also prevented FBI Chief Ted Gunderson (Ret.) from testifying of falsified police reports, altered witness testimony, and perjury by detectives of the Costa Mesa Police Department. Also needing to be addressed were issues of witness-tampering and blackmail. Gunderson was permitted to testify of illegal interrogation techniques implemented against the said victim/witnesses, but Judge Thompson also barred the video-tapes from being viewed.
Judge Thompson subsequently was promoted to Orange County's Asst. Presiding Judge, and will ascend to Presiding Judge for the 2013-14 term unless there is a public outcry. The former FBI chief did his part, now we must do ours!
Judge Thompson may be reached at the Office of Asst. Presiding Judge at (657)622-7010.
